Basic Assumption
Numerous young adults are undecided about their professional path and need reliable professional guidance. Formal academic institutes may not always offer sufficient resources.
Goal
The centre will offer appropriate vocational resources and advice in the fields of medicine, pharmacy & nursing. This information will allow for an in-depth look at what each of these fields entail, thus helping the candidates determine where they are best suited.
Method of Operation
The resource centre will offer both theoretical and practical methods for communicating information regarding the study of medicine, pharmacy and nursing. Lectures and mentoring will be available by accredited and experienced professionals.
The Centre and Other Institutions
The resource center will be connected to the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine (where Abie was a student until the day he died). It will also be connected to various professional and vocational academic institutes in Israel, the USA & internationally. In addition the centre will utilize distance learning techniques to help reach as many students and remote communities as possible.
Target Population
The target population ranges from high school students to 25 year of age, regardless of religion, race, gender and ethnicity. Priority will be given to applicants who display an avid commitment and interest in utilizing their professional skills to serve the under-privilege.
Framework of Study and Counseling
The contents and duration of study at the resource center will be determined by a committee selected by the board of directors.
Terms of Admission to the Center
Proof of high school study, graduation diploma or an equivalent certificate is required for consideration to any of the courses offered at the resource centre.
Admission Committee
An admission committee elected by the foundation’s board members will review applications of candidates.
Application Forms
Once the resource centre is fully active, application forms will be available.
